Getting Started

Compatible Headsets

Follow the setup instructions provided with your headset and ensure that both headset and controllers are fully charged. You will also need a data cable to connect the device to your computer during setup.

Compatibility

The CCK is supported on both Windows and macOS.

Windows Recommended Minimum Settings

  • CPU: 2.8 GHz Intel Core i5
  • GPU: NVIDIA GTX 1060
  • Hard Disk Space: 20 GB free space
  • Operating System: Windows 10 or 11

macOS Recommended Minimum Settings

  • CPU: X64 architecture with SSE2 instruction set support
  • GPU: Metal-capable Intel and AMD GPUs
  • Hard Disk Space: 20 GB free space
  • Operating System: High Sierra 10.13+

Preparing Your Software

  1. Download the installer here (opens in a new tab) and run it.

Step 1

  1. Run through each step until it says that it is fully installed. This can take up to 30 minutes because there are many files to be downloaded. Please make sure you are fully connected to the internet for the duration of the installation.

  1. Once complete, click "Finish" and launch the Unity Hub.

Creating a Unity Account

Visit this page (opens in a new tab) and create an account. To be ablt to you can use Unity and the CCK software you will need an account. Unity is a powerful game development engine that offers a range of features and tools to help you create stunning and interactive experiences. By signing up, you can unlock the full possibilities of the tools at your potential disposal, which includes publishing signed builds of your projects.

  1. Launch unity hub and sign in to your new account.

  1. Once signed in, you will be prompted to activate a license. Click “Manage Licenses”.

  1. Click “Add license”.

  1. If you do not have a Pro account, click “Get a free personal license”.

  1. Click “Agree and get personal edition license”.

  1. Once the license is added click “New Project”

  1. Select "SkillsVR CCK" and name your project. If you cannot see it under "All templates", please make sure your "Editor Version" up the top is 2021.3.16f1.

  1. Now click “Create Project".

  1. Wait for it to open (it may take a while).

  1. Your view should look like this once it is opened.

Optional: Download and Install Windows HEVC Video Codec (for 360 video)

Only needed if using HEVC Video Formats for 360 Videos

If you are unable to see the videos you have added to the project via the 360 Video node. This may be the issue. For experiences using 360 videos, you will need to install this codec (opens in a new tab) in order for your Windows device to support the videos. It costs $0.99.
